BScaff - A CLI tool for project scaffolding and snippets
A potentially AI-related product surfaced from a public Show HN launch post.
Launch summary
I built BScaff, a CLI tool for saving and reusing project structures, templates, files, and text snippets. It can serve as a URL bookmark tool as well. It started with project scaffolding, but I wanted something more general-purpose: a tool that could save almost any reusable starting point and bring it back whenever needed. For each language, I had a specific way of structuring projects that I have refined over years, but I could not find any tool which can quickly help to generate such scaffolding quickly. Copier and Cookiecutter exists but they depend on templates, and I didn't want to create templates for such tasks. One more use-case I had was when I used AI chatbots who suggest some project structure, and I want to quickly create that. So I wanted something offline which can quickly help me save and recreate file trees. Then I added snippets to it too, but I mostly use it for notes taking personally. Some things you can do with it: * Save Git repository templates locally and use
